Muffin had her heartworm test, her annual rabies and distemper vaccines, and received 6 months' worth of heart guard today at the Anti-Cruelty Society.... all for free! This saved us at least $50-$100.00!
Yesterday she had x-rays and her blood drawn for preliminary "geriatric" blood tests to see: 1) if she is healthy enough to survive anesthesia for her tooth extractions and cleaning; 2) organ function levels and such; and 3) if she has cancer. The 2nd vet felt a suspicious mass in her abdomen. The x-ray did not show conclusively whether it is something to worry about or not. I should know more by Friday.

Muffin's 2nd quote
Muffin and I are in my car on the way to a vet appointment for a 2nd quote. (We'll get at least one more, so as to maximize the funds raised.)

Muffin's fund raiser was a wonderful success. We raised a total of $1,510.00 for her medical expenses. We absolutely could not have done this without your help. Every penny is appreciated and Muffin and I thank all of you who contributed you whole-heartedly.
She'll be at my home until her veterinarians assure me she is healthy enough for another transition to a new, permanent home. Please keep your eyes and heart open for her so that we can, indeed, find her a loving, understanding permanent home.
Of the $1510 raised, a fee of $116 will be deducted by Fundable.com for expenses associated with the online fund raiser itself, and the rest will go directly to Muffin's medical care. All bills and details, as well as her health progress will be available for your information here, and any funds collected in excess of what Muffin needs will be donated to Peke-N-Chin Midwest rescue, from which I fostered my previous dog, LittleMan, and adopted my dog, Eddie.
