CHICAGOANS CELEBRATE "KRONOS FREE GYROS DAY"
On Tuesday, September 1, 42 Participating Chicagoland Restaurants Will offer FREE GRYOS SANDWICHES all day long! Mark your calendars for a truly free lunch! Kronos Foods, the leading maker of premium gyros and other Mediterranean specialty food items, is giving Chicagoans a free gyros sandwich on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, during its premiere "Kronos Free Gyros Day" promotion.

Whether you are a die hard gyros lover or just want to try one for the day, have a gyros sandwich for lunch, dinner or a late afternoon snack. No matter what you choose, they will be free all day at 42 participating Chicago area locations.

Enjoying "Kronos Free Gyros Day" is simple: just visit www.kronosfreegyros.com to download and print a free coupon for redemption and view a list of participating locations.

"We love gyros and we want everyone throughout the Chicago area to be Greek for the day, or even just an hour and have a taste of Greece," said Valerie Lester, senior marketing director of Kronos Foods. "Chicago is filled with elements of the Greek culture and this is our way of saying 'thank you' to Chicagoans for making our company, and the restaurants that sell our food, so popular."

A gyros is made with selected beef, beef and lamb or chicken meat seasoned with zesty spices, thinly sliced and piled high onto a fluffy handmade flatbread pita. A traditional gyros sandwich is topped with onions and tomatoes, as well as a flavorful, creamy cucumber sauce called tzatziki or gyros sauce.

For participating location addresses and additional information, please visit http://www.kronosfreegyros.com.

ONLY ONE COUPON PER PERSON. SIX FREE GYROS PER HOUSEHOLD.

Anju the sweet calico

I really miss these guys...

Although I am grateful and happy that the boys were adopted (throught Tree House,) I am sad because poor Anju is still without a permanent home. I had hoped she'd have one by now.

Although Tree House is the best shelter environment for her, she'd be happier if she could bond with a person. Please try to visit her in the Magnolia room at Tree House Humane Society's Uptown branch. Let's find her an adopter!
